Urban Photography

Photographing cities like listening in — catching old walls, signage, the pop of an umbrella against concrete, the moment just before it disappears. These are the stories people walk past every day.

The work

This series grew out of trips to South India — Bangalore, Chennai, temple towns — and the strange double vision of experiencing a place as both insider and outsider. The Kannada signs. The umbrellas. The way a single wall can hold fifty years of layered paint and meaning. But it's not just about India. STL does it too. Every city is doing it. You just have to slow down enough to notice.
